Erasmus Student Network (ESN) is an all-European student organisation. Its goal is to support and develop student exchange.
ESN was founded in 1990 in Copenhagen, Denmark by former Erasmus students supported by Erasmus Bureau. Behind the foundation was the idea of ‘students helping students’, which still remains the main motto for the work of ESN. Since its foundation the network has been growing in both, extent and importance. Nowadays it is composed of over 12.000 members from 299 local sections in 33 countries working in Higher Education Institutes (Universities, Polytechnics, University Colleges etc) and it is in contact with almost 150.000 international minded students. ESN is organised on a local (ESN Sections), national (National Boards) and international level (ESN International).
