The exhibition reflects two decades (1968 - 1988) after the Soviet occupation of Czechoslovakia. You can see 360 photos from 120 authors, both documentary and artistic photography, unofficial as well as semiofficial photography.
Come to see how the most significant and famous Czech and Slovak photographers – e. g. Jindřich Štreit, Jan Saudek, Tono Stano, Ivan Kafka, Emila Medková (and many more!) – coped with communistic repression and depressing atmosphere in society in this sad period of Czechoslovak history.
The exhibition takes place in Pražák´s Palace (Czech: Pražákův palác), which is one of the most notable Neo-Renaissance building in Brno and has architecturally worthy interiors.
You don't have to pay in advance for this event, but apply by mail at culture@isc.muni.cz, thanks.
After our visit of the exhibition, you can join me for visiting a wine cellar in the centre of Brno, where we will taste the famous young French wines called Beaujolais Nouveau. All over the world on the first Thursday of November people can for the first time taste this year´s French wines. This year you can enjoy this event in Brno!
